What To Do With Your Old Golf Clubs?

We've all had this problem from one time or another. You buy a new set of ladies golf clubs, but what can you do with the old set of golf clubs? Sure, you can sell them on ebay or Craigslist, but it can be a hassle. I just recently stumbled across the perfect solution. The Susan G. Komen Foundation has a ladies golf club donation program. Here are the details:

Step 1. Gather as Many Clubs to Donate as You Possibly Can.
Clean out your closet, trunk, garage, etc. to find all the good quality golf clubs you might donate (ask your neighbors to do the same!). Ask your golfing partners to donate some clubs as well!Work with your local PGA Professional to add a Rally for the Cure Golf Club Club Donation component to an upcoming tournament, or in the golf shop. Work with your employer or local businesses and corporations to run a golf club donation drive to benefit Rally for the Cure. Get creative! How can you raise substantial contributions by collecting good quality golf clubs to donate?

Step 2. How to Ship Your Club Donations

You will be able to print out UPS shipping labels through this website. Safely pack and box-up your golf clubs, affix the shipping label to the box, and drop them off at your local The UPS Store® or give them to a UPS driver. The cost of shipping is as follows: $15 (1-20 clubs), $20 (21-40 clubs), $30 (40+ clubs). The cost of shipping will simply be deducted from the total donation value-there is NO out of pocket expense for shipping charges.

Need Boxes & Packing Supplies? Check with your local PGA Professional to see if they have any extra golf club boxes available. As the golf equipment experts, they may also be able to help you pack them up safely for shipping. If you collect 20 or more clubs to donate, you will receive FREE boxing & packing supplies at The UPS Store® if needed (donate less than 20 clubs and you will receive a 30% discount at The UPS Store® on any boxing required).

All donations support a good cause and are tax deductible.

Sleeveless on the Course? Yes, Please!

OK, call me strange, but I only like to wear sleeveless things in the summer. Whether at the office, working around the house, playing golf or going to the movies, chances are that you won't see me wearing anything with sleeves if it is over 80 degrees. Fortunately, there is a great variety in ladies sleeveless golf shirts and golf dresses to keep even the most picky golfer cool this summer while meeting the dress codes are the most strict golf clubs. My personal favorite is the Ladies Sleeveless Crossover Golf Shirt from Jofit Golfwear. I own this ladies golf top in two colors and wear them all the time. It fits perfectly and is very flattering. Want something more basic? Try the ladies sleeveless polos from Golftini, Loft 8, or Pahr Golf.

Golf Lesson #2

So, it's been a few weeks, but I finally did get my second golf lesson in with Kathleen. I have been so busy with Pink Golf Tees, home remodeling projects that seem to never end, and a new puppy that I really haven't gotten to play golf all that much compared to normal and feel bad going to a lesson when I haven't been practicing.

We worked on my swing some more. My new stance and swing feels very unnatural, but I'm hitting the ball further with less effort, so I can't complain! Now if I could only get out and play! Hopefully lesson #3 will be soon. Stay tuned!

Golf Skorts Are HOT This Season!

In years past, I've had a difficult time deciding what to wear to the golf course. I didn't like most of my shorts because they didn't have adequate pocket space for tees or the stray golf ball. They also always felt either too short or too long to be comfortable while playing golf. Most summer days are far too hot for capris, so that didn't leave me with too many options. And then I discovered the skort. The all magical ladies golf skort. Suddenly I found myself buying just about every golf and non-golf related skort I could find.

Benefits of a golf skort:

1. Pockets! So far all of my skorts have far superior pockets or better arranged pockets than my traditional ladies golf shorts.

2. Comfortable! I have found skorts to be much more comfortable than my ladies golf shorts any day on the golf course. I feel more covered in a skort than in shorts, even short ones, but can still get the same sun as wearing shorts.

3. Kick up the style factor! Skorts are a great way to make a statement on the golf course for ladies. I've found more unique, stylish and creative ladies golf skorts than I know what to do with. Say good bye to those boring ladies khaki golf shorts!

4. Variety! There is such a wide variety of ladies golf skorts available, that you are sure to find something to fit your personal style and body type. From athlethic, form fitting fabrics to linen, to seersucker, the options are almost endless.

So, if you haven't tried a golf skort yet, I highly recommend it for your next trip to the golf course. Or to the grocery store, or library... They are so comfortable and flattering that I could honestly wear mine just about every day, whether playing golf or not.
