Hybrid Golf Club Testing - Part 3

I finally had a chance to take the new Sweet Spot Think Pink 4h club to the driving range. After my normal warm up routine, I hit the first few balls. Initially, I found it difficult to keep my body down through my swing with this club. I switched over to another club, and I hit that one fine, so I went back to the Sweet Spot hybrid and started focusing on what my problem was. After a few more attempts, I started seeing better results with this club. I also found that by slightly teeing up the ball (1/4 inch or so) helped immensely. I am excited to see how this club works in getting the ball out of the deep stuff during my next golf game. From what I've seen on the driving range, I think it will work great for those tricky shots! I spent about a half hour with this hybrid club and think it has great potential for me. I find that I have to really focus with each shot to make sure that I stay down on the ball. When I do this, the results are GREAT! I hit several shots in the 160-170 range. With some additional practice and use, I think it will become easier for me to hit this club. The practice will be well worth it since I am very happy with the distance I get from the Sweet Spot club!

I did find it interesting that this 22 degree club had about the same loft as the 29 degree 5h that I also tested (the Cobra Lady Baffler).

Bottom line, I understand what the lady on the golf course meant when she said "hybrids changed my life!". I don't know that I'll ever replace all my irons (she played with a complete set of hybrids), but so far I have replaced the 4 and 5 irons in my golf bag with hybrids without a second thought.

Hybrid Golf Club Testing - Part 2

A few weeks ago, I set out on a golf game changing quest to find the perfect hybrid golf clubs. Based on customer suggestions, I tested 2 new hybrid golf clubs on the driving range: the Cobra Lady Baffler (29 degree - 5h) and the Callaway Lady FT Fusion (20 degree - 3h). The third hybrid club that I just tested is the Sweet Spot Think Pink (22 degree - 4h). It arrived on Monday and I didn't have a chance to test it out on the range before my round of golf on Tuesday. The goal is to test them on both the driving range and during an actual round.

I used the Cobra Baffler several times throughout the day and it performed beautifully! It felt effortless to swing and the ball easily went 150-160 yards with each hit. There were no bad hits with this club, which I found amazing! I can't even remember how many times I uttered the phrase "I love this club!".

I still have not been able to hit the Callaway more than 120 yards, which is very disappointing. It came highly recommended, but obviously I am not doing something correctly. It seem to be a very difficult club to hit compared to that others that I've tried. It will not be a club that I keep in my bag.

I decided to try out the Sweet Spot club, even though I hadn't previously tested it. The first couple of attempts didn't go so well. It is weighted completely different from the Cobra and took some getting used to. I did get a couple fantastic hits from it with approx. 140-150 yards of distance. For a new club, this was great for me. I do love the grip on this club! It is way better than the standard grip I've seen on any other club. Very cushy, but grippy at the same time. I have a feeling that after spending some time on the driving range, that I will really enjoy this club!

At the end of the day, though, the Cobra was the clear favorite. It is probably the easiest club I have ever hit. My boyfriend grabbed it from my bag and tried it a couple of times, which is funny since it was way too short for him. Surprisingly, he still hit a solid 180 yards with it on the first try!

More to follow on the driving range practice with the Sweet Spot Think Pink ladies hybrid club.

Hybrid Ladies Golf Clubs - Any Suggestions?

I recently played golf with a lady who's pink golf bag was full of hybrid golf clubs. I currently have a 4h and 5h, but never use them. Long story short, my golf pro decided the ones I have are too short for me, which makes sense why I can't hit them well, or at least it's a good excuse! So, they sit in my golf bag with their fancy pink club covers and are never used. But, playing golf with this lady got me thinking. She said that she had just switched to the hybrid clubs this year and her game has improved a ton. Granted, she is playing much more golf this season than normal, but she really loved her hybrid clubs!

Does anyone have some good recommendations for hybrid clubs to try? I went to a big box store the other day, but could not get a salesperson to talk to me... Just a reminder on why I started Pink Golf Tees in the first place!

Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!
